Innovation

We understand our mission is to include a continuous development of alternative and more effective studies. We prefer to develop studies in cooperation with research institutions/sponsors as we have done in past years.

Studies developed in the past:

  • Mesocosm studies including fate-o-cosms and bioaccumulation under outdoor conditions
  • High tier studies with beneficial arthropods e.g. disappearance kinetics of pesticides for dietary risk assessment of birds and small mammals
  • Endocrine disruption in aquatic organisms

Cooperation with research institutions and industry

  • Doctoral research with different industry partners, namely:
    • Chronic Effects of Pharmaceuticals in the Aquatic Environment (2002 – 2006),
    • Hormonal activity of UV-screens in aquatic ecosystems: in vitro to in vivo prediction (2002 – 2004)
    • Natural Variability of Zooplankton and Phytoplankton in Outdoor Aquatic Microcosms. Research project to improve aquatic risk assessment of pesticides (1996 – 2000)
    • Several M. Sc. Theses.
