Facilities
IES’s facilities are brand-new and state-of-the-art. All laboratories are temperature controlled and consist of laboratories, incubation rooms, growth chambers, greenhouse, outdoor fate-o-cosm facility and experimental fields.
IES Ltd. is a GLP testing facility and successfully achieved certification from the Swiss Authorities in 2008 and 2010.
The laboratories and offices are occupying a surface area of 1400 m2, the greenhouse has a surface area of 300 m2 and the outdoor fate facility is 450 m2.
The greenhouse is fully automated, temperature controlled and separated into different compartments which allows conducting of several single crop metabolism, rotational crop or non-target plant studies at the same time.
In the outdoor facility we conduct terrestrial studies such as plant metabolism, dissipation or rotational crop studies under open natural environmental conditions. Higher tier aquatic fate studies are conducted in the fate-o-cosm facility with special enclosure systems.
